About this car
The Ford Transit XL is a full size 15 passenger van, the workhorse of group travel. It seats fifteen with a high roof you can stand up in, sliding side door, and room behind the last row for bags. A 3.5 liter V6 handles the load without complaint.
It drives like a big SUV rather than a bus. The seating position is high, visibility is excellent, and the backup camera and mirrors make parking at hotels and venues manageable. Air conditioning reaches every row, which matters in July.
This is the right call for bachelor and bachelorette parties, wedding shuttles, sports teams, church groups and corporate outings. One driver, one van, everyone arrives together, nobody splits rideshares. Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire and the Strip are all easy trips, and the van parks at our shop just minutes from the airport for a quick pickup.
Common questions
Do I need a special license for a 15 passenger van?
No. A standard driver's license is all that is needed in Nevada for a 15 passenger van rented for personal use. Age 25 and up, a valid license and insurance apply to every rental. See the requirements page for details.
Can the Transit go into hotel parking garages?
The high roof is too tall for most garages. Use surface lots or the oversized vehicle areas most resorts offer, and check clearance signs.
How much luggage fits with 15 people?
The area behind the last row holds a stack of carry ons and a few larger bags. For a big luggage load, consider leaving a seat or two open.
